California Survivor! Original 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray T-Top Coupe!
Up for sale is this beautiful California survivor, numbers matching, original 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 402, 350 V8 4-speed manual T-top coupe. The car lived its life in Gilroy, California and was always kept in a garage and cared for by its owner. The car is original and still has its vintage smog equipment.
The car was off the road for ten years and within the past eight months the car was made roadworthy with all new brakes, calipers/pads/hoses, points, a three row aluminum radiator & hoses, power steering cylinder & hoses, master cylinder, tires, rally wheel trim rings, center caps, rubber floor mats and battery. The car is in good mechanical condition and drives, steers, shifts and stops great and is a lot of fun to drive. The radio and tachometer are not functioning and the original windshield wiper door grill is missing, however a green grill from a parts car is included.
The body and frame are very straight and the undercarriage of the car is clean with no undercoating. (Undercarriage photos available on request.) There is a 4" dent/crack in the fiberglass under the brake lights on the rear driver"s side. Although the body and chassis are
rust free and solid, the paint has blemishes, scratches, paint loss and fading as seen in the photos. The car was resprayed in the 70"s in
the original Ontario orange color and was recently professionally detailed. It shines up, but shows its age.
The original interior and carpet is in very good condition with separation on a few seams of the bucket seats. This beautiful and iconic Corvette Stingray can be enjoyed as is or would make a great candidate for a full restoration.
