Vehicle description
Restorable 1971 911T Targa . This car had an upper intake fire in the early 1980"s. Car has been in Georgia and Tennessee all of its life. Car has original transmission and original 2.2 motor long block. Upper intake fire melted rear glass and damaged trim and upper intake. The fire was hot enough to melt part of the upper engine case including the fan support that would normally contain the stamped engine number. I am not sure if the motor is salvageable. Car has never been north of Tennessee and has not been exposed to road salt. The body parts are in good condition. Only place body is rusted through is the back of right front fender. Hood and deck are both solid. Have original Targa top, but it will need new vinyl. Other body parts only have minor surface rust. All four strut towers are solid and rust free. Original transmission is still in the car. Original motor has been taken out of the car (see pictures.) Original intakes are in the front of the car. The most serious rust issues are as follows: First the car needs a front suspension pan. Secondly there is a rusted section of the floor pan approximately 8 x 12" under the the gas, brake, and clutch pedals. There is also rust in the back of the drivers door in the door frame. (see picture.) The other major area of rust is the rear deck behind the back seats. It is rusted because of the fire damage. Car has 4 new Pirelli P7 tires (195 60 15) (DOT 2008) on original Fuchs wheels.
