About this vehicle This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is an original with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. This is offered for sale by the original owner. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows. Vehicle Details 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible # matching LS5 454. Here’s an opportunity for someone to own a very rare LS5 convertible! This is a very early (August 1970) Arlington built number matching LS5 car finished in its original colors of Rosewood metallic with white stripes, white top, and all black interior. You will notice it has been correctly restored with the red oxide primer originally used as well as the squared off corner stripes rather than rounded to be authentic to its timeframe at the Arlington plant. You will also notice by the photos the extremely early body number of R00039 as noted on the Fisher trim tag. This is currently the only known 1971 numbers matching LS5 Rosewood convertible left in existence and given how few were originally built is most likely the only one left. The car is well optioned as you will notice with factory buckets and console, tilt column, factory A/C, power top, and paint matched remote sport mirror to name a few. As you will see, the car has had no expense spared with most all original parts being restored, GM original parts, and/or nearly all NOS replacements being used as well as complete AMK hardware kits utilized. For example,the original cowl induction air cleaner setup is virtually impossible to find and well over 1k unrestored…, it has all NOS badges installed and included, 1k worth of NOS hood pin accessories, NOS exhaust tips, Originals pieces professionally replated and coated rather than “painted” such as hood hinges, delco brake booster and master, hood locking pieces, brake calipers, brake distribution valve, etc. Everything underneath is new as well, under floor has been sprayed in black Bedliner, all new stainless brake lines, fuel lines, and vapor lines, etc,etc. The VIN matching frame has been powder coated and replaced all new bushings, all 5 wheels included are original and correctly coded and have been restored correctly with front color and texture as well as rear of wheel in correct grey color,also all 4 wheels have the correct early NOS brushed finish beauty rings on them and blue center caps, original 3.31 open rear has been gone through with complete new drum brakes etc, front has disc brakes that have been completely gone through and are new as well, all control arms front and rear are also powder coated as well as bumper brackets and such smaller pieces as well. All new black interior is included- seats have all been professionally restored, new carpet, new complete console, new door panels front and back, black restored GM dash pad, original guages, Original dash, rear panels and new coverings for those, new convertible top with glass window, new rear boot for top as well. All new weather stripping and seals for the top and entire car is also included. I have boxes upon boxes of parts and pieces included and have most everything to finish up the assembly. The trans is a th400 that’s been rebuilt( not number matching), the LS5 is number matching and has been professionally rebuilt mildly and I have specs on that I will give buyer as well- it has been bored .30, a comp cam added, and a few other things. The heads, exhaust manifolds, the distributor, the alternator, the block, the water pump, and the intake are all correctly coded and dated as seen in pictures. * 100% feedback and I have sold Chevelles on previously as well. As true collectors and Chevelle enthusiasts will understand, this is a high end collector piece so serious inquiries only. These original LS5 convertibles are going for well over 100k without the rarities of this car.
