1971 Chevrolet K2500 up for auction. This is a daily driver. This is an OEM stock, original, numbers matching truck. Clear Texas Blue Title in my name. This is a commercial contract U.S. Forestry truck, one of 674 made in 1971. 350 2-barrel mechanical choke, 4-speed manual transmission on the floor, stock. Runs, drives and stops perfect. Comes with two sets of keys. Lockout hubs which work perfectly. The truck is in use regularly on our ranch in Salado, Texas. The motor has not been rebuilt. It purrs like a kitten, no taps, no noise, silent, perfect running truck. It starts every single time I get in it on the first crank. It has power steering. The truck has a one-ton suspension. The front axle is sprung on huge leaf springs stock. This was a fire department brush truck, special order as stated. Original color was white, inside and out. It was painted U.S. Forest Service fluorescent green exterior at some point, then the current paint you see now, which is a faded sea foam green metallic. The truck has had regular oil changes, has been well taken care of, but has rust in all the usual places. It has the original bench seat, and upholstery which is not torn, but is old light green vinyl. There are $2650.00 in new body parts, turn signal lenses, etc., from Brothers Chevrolet in the bed of the truck for restoration, including rockers, cab corners, L and R front fenders and front valance that do go with the truck. It needs these parts. There are numerous places in the rockers where the pitting is evident and the front valance is shot on the battery, (passenger), side. It also has two new front wheel wells, which it does not need. The floorboards are solid. The glass is all perfect. The battery is about six months old. I was going to restore her, but we are putting together earnest money for a larger piece of property and need a larger deposit to make our VA loan more attractive to sellers. The bed was over-laid with 1/8" diamond plate. The original stringers for the original bed are under this plate. The wood is long gone. The diamond plate is rusty, and is rusted through in several spots. The frame on the truck is perfect, not one split, crack, tweak or bend. She drives perfectly straight down the road and stops on a dime. The truck shifts perfectly up or down and never pops out of gear or chirps or grinds. She is a solid driver. The truck, in low gear 4-wheel drive will climb anything with or without a load. It has a nice after-market rear bumper on it with a class IV 2" receiver as shown. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Video or pictures will be sent for specific requests as requested and will be answered as soon as possible. If you need information about the truck, please do not wait until the last 24 hrs in the auction to ask them. I will be happy to call you and talk to you about the truck. She has never let me down. The truck is for sale locally and on Facebook Marketplace. I am a 54-year old U.S. Army Veteran. We live near Fort Hood Texas. You can drive this truck anywhere, just know it"s max speed is only about 55-65 mph and the turn signals do not work. It has no radio, it never had a radio. The dash has the original delete plate still in it. It never had AC. I"ve got new front lenses for the marker lights and turn signals still in the boxes, but it will need attention before you drive it down the highway.
