Finished in a very . . attractive exterior/interior color combination, this Pagoda 280SL is an older restoration that is still holding up very well. That means close inspection may reveal a few minor paint blemishes but it also means the restoration was quality work. When shortcuts are taken, paint and body problems have a way of reappearing after two or three years (if not sooner) and that’s not the case here. Consistent with the quality work, this car’s body has great panel gaps, no rust issues, and the overall paint appearance belies the fact that it was done some years back. The interior was done to a high standard and the leather seats and carpets exhibit virtually no wear. The dash wood is excellent as well. The car has both hard and soft tops. The soft top is new, well fitted, and in the correct material. Mechanically, it’s in great shape too. The engine has been rebuilt, holds the proper oil pressure, doesn’t smoke and runs in the correct temperature range. The transmission works as it should and with a rebuilt suspension and brakes, you can be confident it drives as well as it looks.
