Vehicle description

I purchased the car in 2008. When the car arrived it had 0 rust and was like stepping back in time. I was able to contact the original owner who started racing the car when it had about 19,500 miles on it. I have his original title from the purchase price of $4,064. I believe I am the 3rd owner. The car retained the original dash, door panel and all sheet metal. The car was modified for racing and I decided to take it back to the original specifications. I spent the better part of a year researching the correct parts and what it would take to bring it back to original condition. I sourced the correct parts from all over the country. I have receipts for all work and parts purchased for the car for the restoration which totals over $90K. The engine is bored 30 over and was built by Belleville Automotive. The engine was a SCJ engine originally as it was identified with an S scratched on the block. I have the correct DOZF AA one year carb that is a $2,000 + part alone. Custom 2.5” exhaust with hand-made rolled exhaust tips like the original. The doors, front fenders are original. The shock towers were beaten in for headers and we replaced those. Firewall and transmission housing were modified and they were replaced. Otherwise everything else was original best that I know of. The rear window valance was NOS and has not been repainted. The interior retains its original dash gauges and door panels. All nuts and bolts for the exterior and interior were purchased from Dead Bolts On and are all period correct. The restoration was a rotisserie and great care was taken to match the Metuchen manufacturing process. All underbody painting was matched to manufacturing details and since we had such a great example of a non-rust car we emulated what we found. The finished paint job was done by Tim Thorpe of O"fallon IL who is a renowned restoration shop. The car drives wonderful and sounds fantastic. There are no problems with the car that I know of except the parking break needs the new locking part. Price: $74,000 obo
