Vehicle description
I purchased this Mustang from the estate of the original owner about 13 years ago as a basket case. If you look at the Marti report, you will see that this is an unusual car. It was special ordered from a local dealer here in Eastern North Carolina. The Gentlemen was in the Air Force. He ordered the car locally and it was shipped to Alaska while he was stationed there. It came back to North Carolina with him.
The car originally came with a 302 2V, 3 speed manual transmission, FACTORY TACH DASH CLUSTER , competition suspension, power disk brakes, manual steering, rear spoiler, sport slats (no longer with the car) and more. Please see the Marti report. The tach dash and harness is still with the car as is the rear spoiler, disk brakes and console.
I have installed a 70 302 and a C4 automatic transmission from another one of my project cars. I got the motor running today. I would still do a complete rebuild, but it ran pretty well considering the minimal amount I did to get it running. I found the correct single groove pulleys and installed them on the engine. The radiator appears to be brand new. The brakes do not work at this time. The car is not drive able.
The body does have the typical Mustang rust. It will need rear quarter skins, outer wheel houses, trunk drop offs and floor pans. The floor pans were covered with fiberglass many years ago and could actually be left that way for a driver. Me, I would replace the floor pans. The tail light panel and rear cross member were just replaced, as were both front inner fender aprons and battery box as seen in the pictures. I also replaced the doors with ones that were re- skinned that will need final body work. The originals were pretty bad. The front fenders also came from one of my other project cars and are in good condition. Both headlight buckets still have the valance mounting tabs intact. Basically I have put the car together enough to transport it. It is missing fasteners and some small parts. Pictured are some of the additional parts that go with the car. If I can find some more of the missing parts, I will include them. Evidently the previous owner was going to go with a blue and white interior. The seats were re covered with blue deluxe covers years ago and are in very good unused condition, just need a little cleaning. The center console body is in good condition with no broken mounting holes. It was modified some to hold gauges (included), but with a new insert, you should not see the cut out section. It will also need a new storage compartment, It currently houses an 8 track player. The rear fiberglass panels are in great shape with the lower "ears" still there. I am including a pair of used blue door panels along with the original green panels. The dash pad is the original green pad and does have a crack down the speaker holes. I am including a reproduction dash pad also. The wiring will need a complete going through/restoration. The car will need a complete restoration. It does not run (running as of today) and the brakes do not work. It does roll and steer easily. All glass looks to be in good condition, though the windshield does have some wiper marks and a small stone chip. I also found the factory rear sway bar and will include it with the car. The heavy competition front sway bar is still on the car. It does have new front spring that appear to be 1 inch lowering springs.
The car is sold as is, where is with no sort of warranty. exact mileage unknown. I will help load the car or work with your shipper. I expect the car to be picked up within 2 weeks unless we agree otherwise. I prefer cash at pick up, but will accept a bank check if you cannot pick it up. A $500 nonrefundable deposit is required within 48 hours through PAYPAL.
NO OVERSEAS BUYERS! PERIOD!
THE CAR WILL NOT LEAVE MY PROPERTY UNTIL I HAVE CASH IN HAND OR UNTIL THE BANK CHECK CLEARS. I DO HAVE THE TITLE IN MY NAME.
Sorry, but NO TRADES. I am trying to downsize my projects.
The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping.
