Vehicle description
1970 mustang fastback. Solid body solid frame. $40k invested ($25k invested under the hood alone). I have moved and have diverted my attention on other things in life. Very little work and cash into this car gets in on the road and in the shows.
Here is what I know about the history of the car.
The car came new with a 298 stick shift. The original color was blue with black interior. It had 4 wheel drum brakes, no ac.
I bought the car summer of 2015, to specifically create a customized mustang with no intentions to make anything original. When I got the car, it had new seats, carpet headliner, dash pad, door panels, and some other misc interior parts/pieces. It had new brake lines and floor panels.
I bought a motor from a local mustang builder and had another hot rod pro install the motor, "under the hood components", entire front four caliber disc brake system. Entire cost of motor, installation, brakes and the rest of the components under the hood were just around $24,000.
When I had the motor installed the group I purchased the motor from estimated the hp around 600. I am not for sure if this is too much motor for a stock mustang frame so please keep that in mind. Also, it has a stock rear end and stock c4 trans. I am not sure how those two components will handle the motor. Motor has been started before the install but since its been in the car, it has not ran.
Right now, the car is primed. To paint the car there needs to be in my opinion very small amounts of body work (some very small typical dings here and there). There is a small rust spot at the bottom of the front fender that I found that still needs to be taken care of. The car is primed but I would suggest a complete wet sand and re-prime before painting, I am not paint guy but its a very straight car.
The car is pretty much complete. It needs a driver"s side door, exhaust system (headers already on), have the bumpers but they are original and have some dents, so I would get replacements. I would suggest new tires. The rims are in ok shape. Other that that, I am pretty sure its all there.
Reason for selling. . I decided to shift my focus in life from so much attention and time into my toys and simply focus on other things. There is nothing cancerous happening with the car. Its an absolutely great project thats not too far from getting on the streets.
I am will to help get the car loaded to ship. If you are in Arizona, I could possibly even deliver the car depending on the circumstances.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out.
