| “This Cuda may be the most original example of a 4spd Barracuda ever offered on eBay. The vehicle was repainted about 2000 and the minimal rust through on the lower rear quarters was repaired with metal. All original parts are there and are numbers matching. Documents (including original Dealer Invoice) validate mileage and show this is an Alabama/Georgia car except for the first three years in NJ and all three owners were responsible adults. The car has been stored inside since I purchased it in 1988 and has only "patina" rust on chassis components. The car is being listed after a minimal cleanup and before I've had time to really do great detailing. The car runs extremely strong. Please read the narrative below.” |

I"ve owned this car since 1988 when it was purchased at the recommendation of a good friend who is the best mechanic north of Smoky Yunick"s garage. I only drove the car on occasional weekends in Alabama until 1992 due to a reassignment from St. Louis to Seattle (Federal Agent) and did not start driving it again until about 3 years ago. The car was garaged after the repaint in 1998 due to fuel tank problems. I detailed the engine bay about 3 years ago, rebuilt the brakes with new drums, pistons and DOT 5 fluid. The fuel tank and sending unit were replaced. I replaced the Dual Point distributor (saved) with a rebuilt unit at which time it developed an ignition problem. My friend identified the problem and installed the Mopar electronic ignition as shown in pics. We"ve installed an electric choke "Edelbrock" 600 cfm carb to make it start and run correctly (original Carter AVS saved). Only a "quick and dirty" cleanup was done in order to take pictures and get the car listed. There are some small things that need attention since no car sits around for this long without needing "just a few more things". The car is reliable and a blast to drive AND runs better than it ever did! The Hurst shifter works well and the car just needs to be driven.
All the chrome: bumpers, wheels, exhaust tips is in great shape and will clean up. The vinyl is excellent except for the split along the stitching in the right seat. All the vinyl is serviceable and could use cleaning and coating. The small things are enjoyable to do, as all the major lifting has been done.
I"m selling this car as I have three other Barracudas, which include another "69 Cuda with automatic, AC, pwr steering etc. And that one is more suitable for a 70 year old than the adrenaline producer this one is.
