For sale by owner: 1969 Chevrolet C-10
C-10 overview:
This truck has spent its entire life in Montana its had 2 owners so far, I have a clean clear notarized Montana title in hand. The miles are original to the truck verified through the previous owners. It was always a special well cared for truck, each owner took good care of it. Mostly original inside and out. The truck runs and drives excellent, very reliable ready for everyday use. I"ve made several 100+ mile trips with it. With the 3.07 gearing, the truck still does well as a highway it doesn"t turn too many RPM, the torque converter allows quick launches. Nice 235/75/R15 tires, rally wheels with new beauty rings and center caps. The interior is original the dash is not cracked, all the gauges work, wipers etc, floor rubber is nice. The seat is torn under the blue blanket covering the driver"s side of the seat. It does still have the factory sticker showing the RPO codes, I listed those below. Selling to free up some funds to purchase a new home, the truck will be missed.
The body of the truck:
Corrosion/rust issues are minimal for the 67-72 vintage, I have detailed pictures of the entire undercarriage available by request. Passenger side is solid, floors are good for the most part, although corroded through near the rockers on the drivers side area. It does need the drivers side rocker panel and cab corner. Overall the cab is in good shape, frame is excellent, bed is excellent no rust through on the underside of the bed or on the bed of the box. Body of the truck is very straight it has never had any body work done to it, no paint work, no bondo etc. Box is nearly perfect, the drivers front fender has two small creases shown in the pictures. The patina shows really well all photos are un-edited, it gets compliments everywhere it goes. (Note: The truck has not had any paint work done, in the photos the paint appears to be different on the passenger side door and fender, while it was being stowed it was covered in some areas better than others)
Work the truck needs:
-the sidemarker lights were not hooked up when i purchased the truck for some reason, they were upgraded at one point to the CST style -radio is installed but is in-op -power steering pump and gear box are brand new. Fresh alignment, drives very straight. The brakes work fine but they are not power. -overall the truck is ready to cruise, it could be restored or customized. Great candidate for a lot of different builds, it has one of the nicer original bodies I"ve seen. This truck does not have any factory trim, no holes to file.
The drivetrain:
Fresh original engine 350 cubic inch 0.30 over 10,000 miles on a complete rebuild the details are as follows
-factory rotating assembly turned crank, all new bearings and hardware, zero decked block -L31 vortec heads fully rebuilt -Comp Cam flat tappet camshaft new lifters, push rods and rocker arms -Edelbrock performer intake, Edelbrock 1405 600 CFM carburetor with a fresh rebuild and tune -billet mallory distributor with a pertronix flame thrower coil, -nice engine hardware, fresh engine tune up plugs wires etc -Full length headers, 2 1/4 inch pipe with fully welded 2 chamber mullfers, nice choppy hot rod idle -Engine makes 350hp-380hp. It idles well, makes great mid range power while still making good top end horsepower
-Original turbo 350 transmission, B&M 2,600 RPM torque converter, 3.07 rear end gears open differential
