Finished in Nordic Blue with an Ivory Oxford roof and a dark blue interior, this car was equipped from the factory with the XR-7 trim package, an AM/8-track radio, Whisperaire air conditioning, a heavy-duty suspension, styled steel wheels, a tilt-away steering wheel, power steering, and power brakes. The 390ci V8 is backed by a C6 Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission, and servicing in July 2018 included replacing a vacuum hose for the brake booster, as well as adjusting a power steering hose and Pitman arm.
The sale includes original purchase documents, a written summary of maintenance and a binder of service receipts dating back to the 1980s, a Marti Report .
A set of OEM 14″ styled steel wheels wear custom 215/70 thin whitewall tires, and the car is equipped with factory heavy-duty suspension. Work conducted under current ownership included replacement of front-end suspension components, rebuilding both door hinges, replacing the rear bumper with a re-chromed unit, and adding new front and rear trim.
The interior is trimmed in dark blue and features a pair of comfort-weave vinyl bucket seats. The factory AM/8-track radio was rebuilt and functions as it should, while options include power steering, a tilt-away wheel, and Whisperaire air conditioning are also working. The center console with clock was replaced under current ownership, along with assorted knobs and the windshield washer system. Interior functions are operational, including the switchgear, roll-up windows, and gauges.
The XR-7 package includes a simulated wood-grain dash, overhead console, and a T-style shifter handle.
Power comes from a 390 cubic inch V8 mated to a C6 Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission and a 2.75 rear axle ratio. Engine as original with exception of a factory correct dual exhaust system, 4V intake, Holley carburetor, chrome valve covers, and air cleaner installed to replicate an XR7-GT model.
