Vehicle description
1968 Ford Mustang Convertible
This shell would make an excellent donor for a 1965 -1968 coupe to convertible conversion. It has all of the hard to find Convertible structural metal and it is in surprisingly decent shape. I am referring to the front windshield, metal behind the rear seat, inner quarter sides, rear rain gutter, and panel between rear window and truck lid, floor seat platform, and underside heavy plate below tunnel. The tonneau area and rain gutters are very nice. The quarter panel top inner structure metal was raw metal so it has rust but this is a thick panel so it will clean up well. The lower inner braces on inner quarter to floor area are better than most. There is very minor surface rust on windshield frame- it looks worse than it it! Everything should sandblast without blowing through.
I have the title, the car has the matching VIN plate, and buck tag. The door tag and aprons are gone. C Code 289 car with automatic. Power steering rack is on front end. This was a Gulfstream Aqua car with standard black interior.
The previous owner planned on restoring the car, and removed the quarters, doors, fenders, etc. He did a decent job drilling out the spot welds so the remaining panels are not damaged. Then, his job transferred him out of the country, and the car sat. I bought it "as is" 5 years ago. The outer rockers panels are decent but the inner rockers are rusted out. It has no rear end. It has V8 front spindles and the front end rolls and steers. I used my tractor to pick up the trunk crossmember to move it.
The car seems structurally okay. It is not falling apart. Left torque box is entact while right side rusted out. The frame is not rusted out aside from the inner rockers. It may be possible for a very ambitious, talented body man to rebuild this shell but it would take a lot of work and parts! It comes with only the parts shown in photos. (No doors, trunk, fenders, hood, bumpers, interior parts)

Being sold "as is" with no Impllied warranty.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. Paypal, bank wire, or cash. I would like to have the car picked up by Christmas due to winter weather. Buyer must make shipping arrangements. I can certainly assist in the loading and will have the car ready to go straight onto a trailer. But, without a rear end, it maybe challenging!
