1968 Malibu, 350/700r4. Power steering, manual drum brakes, posi rear end. Brand new gas tank, sending unit, Carb, SS hood and hinges/springs. Comes with brand new (not installed) rear deck lid, lock set, front & rear SS badges (SS396) and pre-bent front brake line set for disc brakes.
The 350 runs strong and has an Edelbrock intake and carb. The car sounds killer through the dual flowmaster mufflers.
Currently has drums on all four corners that work perfectly. Also included are disc brake spindles, rotors, calipers, master cylinder and proportioning valve. Car is complete, running and driving. 2 weeks ago it stopped shifting out of 2nd gear, may need a new governor, but I"m not a transmission specialist. It can still be test driven, it"s just not as fun. It has a Hurst pro-matic shifter on the floor. Floors and trunk are 98% solid. Driver"s side front toe board has had a repair, but it was not done to my standard. (rusty metal was cut out, a new piece of metal was sheetmetal screwed over it with seam sealer applied to the edge to keep water out. It works, but was on my list to be fixed when I tore it down) I have not had the carpet out to fix it properly. There is a small rust hole developing on the driver"s rear floor drain hole. The trunk has a couple pinholes and surface rust.
There is rust on the lower portions of the driver"s side (see pics) and on the lower driver"s door (see pics). The package tray under the rear window will also need to be replaced. The paint is bubbling on the roof and on the rear wheel openings. The trunk lid currently on the car is rusted, but as mentioned it comes with a brand new in box replacement. The seats are in good condition, but will need recovering when you do the interior. The front buckets have new seat backs and buttons. The door panels are in great shape, but the carpet is faded. The headliner is in great shape. The speedometer bounces and the gas gauge is off, there is a set of aftermarket temp, oil and volt gauges in the 80"s (Camaro?) center console. This is originally an AC car, but it is missing the components. Wipers and lights work, the radio does not. I have owned this car for a little over 2 years. I planned on an LS/6 speed swap, SS tribute. Life happens so it will not pan out. This is a great car for someone else to finish. Located in Whispering Pines, NC.
