Vehicle description
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2020 FROM A MAN IN FLORIDA WHO HAD OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 1992 (28 YEARS).
IMPORTANT: THE ASH TRAY WAS MISSING WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. I ORDERED THE CORRECT 1967 BLACK PEBBLE FINISH ASH TRAY FROM OER AND IT SHOULD BE HERE ON FRIDAY OR MONDAY AND WILL SLIDE IT IN. A NEW ASH TRAY FRAME WAS ALREADY INSTALLED, AWAITING THE CORRECT 1967 ASH TRY TO ARRIVE USPS. THE PHOTOS SHOWING THE GM SPOT WELLS ON INNER DOOR JAMS, THE DOOR JAM WINDLACE IS NOT MISSING. IT HAS BEEN PUT BACK ON. PHOTO IS UP WITH WINDLACE REMOVED SO YOU CAN SEE THE GM SPOT WELDS AND THAT IT IS NOT RUSTY THERE! THIS CAR REALLY NEEDS A BRAND NEW SET OF REPRODUCTION 14" REDLINE BIAS PLY TIRES PUT ON IT TO REALLY MAKE IT STAND TALL. I WOULD LIKE TO PUT THE ON. HOWEVER, ALL YOU GUYS WANTING TO BUY IT SO CHEAP I CAN NOT JUSTIFY THE COST OF DOING IT. BUT IT WOULD REALLY MAKE IT POP (THE RED LINES TIRES CONTRASTING WITH THE RED IN THE CHECKERED FLAG EMBLEM ON THE FENDERS).
THIS CAR WAS BUILT AT THE GM NORWOOD OHIO PLANT ON THE 4TH WEEK OF MARCH 1967. IT WAS BORN FROM GM WITH SOME GOOD OPTIONS SUCH A V8 ENGINE, CENTER CONSOLE FLOOR SHIFT, BUCKET SEATS, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, DELUXE CUSTOM PARCHMENT INTERIOR (PARCHMENT IS WHITE) AND THIS CAR IS BELIEVED TO RETAIN STILL ITS FACTORY SEAT COVERS AND DOOR PANELS (BELIEVED TO BE THE SAME ACTUAL DOOR PANELS AND SEAT COVERS ON THE CAR THAT GM INSTALLED AT THE NORWOOD OHIO PLANT OVER 52 YEARS AGO). YOU DO NOT FIND TOO MANY ORIGINAL INTERIOR CARS ANYMORE! THE VIN OF THIS CAR DOES VERIFY IT WAS BORN A V8 CAR FROM GM, NOT A 6-CYLINDER. FURTHER MORE THE TRIM TAG CONFIRMS IT WAS BORN A BUCKET SEAT DELUXE INTERIOR CAR WITH CENTER CONSOLE! THE CAR IS ALSO BELIEVED TO HAVE LEFT THE GM PLANT ORIGINALLY WITH POWER STEERING- WHICH IT STILL RETAINS.
TRIM TAG/ COWL TAG INFORMATION: TRIM TAG DECODES AS WHITE CONVERTIBLE TOP, TINTED WINDSHIELD, DELUXE PARCHMENT (WHITE) CUSTOM INTERIOR, BUCKET SEATS AND CENTER CONSOLE.
THIS CAR HAS HAS RESTORATION WORK IN ITS LIFE SUCH AS: NEW INNER AND OUTER QUARTER AND TRUNK PAN. NEW FRONT UNI-FRAME BODY BUSHINGS AND SHOCKS, NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP, NEW THREE ROW RADIATOR,AND A NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. IT HAS ALSO HAD ONE OR TWO NEW BALL JOINTS AND OTHER MISC ITEMS SUCH AS NEW FUEL TANK AND SENDER. THE CAR HAS HAD A REPAINT (LIKELY AT THE TIME THE INNER AND OUTER QUARTERS AND TRUNK PAN WERE INSTALLED) AND THE CUSTOM DELUXE INTERIOR AS ALREADY MENTIONED IS BELIEVED TO BE ORIGINAL- AS IS THE CENTER CONSOLE AND SHIFTER. RECENTLY RECEIVED NEW CORRECT BLACK LOOP CARPET THROUGHOUT! NEW VALVE COVERS CORRECT FOR 1967 CAMARO SS AND Z28: CHEVROLET CHROME SCRIPTED!
ENGINE INFORMATION: ENGINE PART NUMBER IS 3914678. THE DATE CODE ON THE BLOCK APPEARS TO BE J 17 7, I DECODE THIS TO BE OCTOBER 17TH, 1967. THE STAMPING ON THE FRONT PAD OF THE BLOCK IS LIGHT AND I HAVE SANDED OF THE PAINT TO TRY TO MAKE IT OUT. I CAN SEE V02 WHICH DECODES THAT THE BLOCK WAS ASSEMBLED BY GM AT THE FLINT PLANT AND IN FEBRUARY. THIS CAR"S BODY WAS ASSEMBLED IN MARCH 4TH WEEK. I HAVE READ THAT MOST IF NOT ALL THE HIGH PERFORMANCE SMALL BLOCKS CAME FROM THE FLINT PLANT AND THE LOWER PERFORMANCE SMALL BLOCK ENGINES CAME FROM THE TONAWANDA PLANT. SO IT SEEMS ITS GOOD THIS CAR HAS A FLINT ASSEMBLED BLOCK AND A DESIRABLE DATE CODE THAT APPEARS TO BE OCTOBER 17, 1967, ASSEMBLED BY GM IN FEBRUARY AT FLINT. THE ENGINE BLOCK PART NUMBER 3914678 COMES BACK ACCORDING TO ONLINE RESEARCH TOOLS DECODING AS USED FOR CAMARO, CORVETTE, AND CHEVELLE 302 Z28, 350 AND 327 ENGINES. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD IS A GM PART NUMBER 3905393 AND IT IS DATED A 31 7, DECODING JANUARY 31ST, 1967. IT IS A 4-BARREL INTAKE AND IT DECODES ONLINE AS USED FOR 350 295HP CAMARO SS AND 327 275HP ENGINES. THIS INTAKE WAS CAST AROUND TWO MONTHS BEFORE THIS CAR"S BODY WAS ASSEMBLED BY GM AT NORWOOD SO ITS PROBABLE THIS INTAKE IS THE FACTORY BORN INTAKE TO THIS CAR.
REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY: THIS CAMARO RETAINS THE CORRECT DATED CODED NUMBERS MATCHING REAR END AXLE ASSEMBLY ASSEMBLED IN 1967 ON MARCH 7TH ACCORDING TO THE ORIGINAL GM AXLE TUBE STAMPING. THE REAR AXLE WAS CAST AROUND ONE MONTH BEFORE THIS CAR WAS BUILT AND ASSEMBLED BY THE AXLE PLANT AROUND TWO WEEKS BEFORE IT WAS SENT TO NORWOOD OHIO WHERE THE GM LINE WORKERS INSTALLED IT TO THE CHASSIS OF THIS CAR.
THIS CAR WOULD LOOK AWESOME WITH A NEW SET OF REDLINE TIRES VS THE WHITE WALLS. I CAN ADD THOSE TO THE CAR FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. ALSO CAN ADD REAR SPOILER FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE IF DESIRED.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: THIS VEHICLE IS MORE THAN 50 YEARS OLD. I DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY OPTIONS FEATURES OR PARTS AS ORIGINAL OR BORN TO THE CAR.
