Vehicle description

UP FOR SALE and last time I reduce the price
1966 Willys Interlagos (Brazilian under licensed A108) made into an Alpine A110 look alike. This car had been stopped for nearly 20 years. Same owner for over 30 years. It was transformed into an Alpine A110 in the mid 70"s. It has a R12 prepared 1550 cc engine with a single twin chocke Weber carburetor and 120 hp, with a R8 gearbox. The car is in running order. There are no cracks on the fiber glass, but the paintjob is showing it"s signs of age with some scratches and places where the paint has peeled off, Chrome also needs to be redone. New bucket seats will go with the car. This is a great car for someone looking for an afordable A110 alternative but with the same looks and fun. International shipping available carried out by a export company in Belgium, especialized in exporting air cooled vws from Brazil (www.facebook.com/kombibrazil/) More info and pics upon request.
Here is some information on the car. The Interlagos was quite a sucess when it came out in the 60"s.
It was the first factory built fiber glass car in brazil, first sports car and also also the first convertible (there was the berlinette, the coupe and the convertible versions) But as Ford bought Willys in the late 60"s, the Interlagos never evolved like the Alpine. In the early 70"s they were already very cheap and nobody wanted them because of their very weak 850 cc engine. So it was very common for peope to adapt vw engines in them. In Brazil, the R12 was never build, but we had the Ford Corcel which used the same engine as the R12 There was a special edition of the Corcel, called the Corcel Bino, in homage to Christian Heinz Bino, who was a racing driver for the Willys racing team. There were 3 version of the Bino engine: a more common 1450 cc engine, a "street performance 1550 cc engine and a racing engine with 1800 cc. This Interlagos has the "street performance" engine with 120 hp, using a R8 gearbox, which makes it very close to the early A110. All the fiber glass transformation and engine adaption where done in the late 70"s by a couple of whell knowen mechanics in Campinas (near to where I live). They sold the car to a japanese in 1981, who used the car very little and kep it most of it"s "life" stopped in the garage. I "discovered" this car about 15 years ago and I have been trying to buy it for all these years but with no luck, when finally, last year, the japanese rang me saying he wanted to sell the car because he was getting too old (72 years old) and he was moving from his large house to an apartment, where he would not be able to store the car. So, finally, I got the car. All the mechanical part is in order, but I"m getting the distributor, spark plugs, oil filter, gas filter, gas pump and everything else put in new. It also has disk brakes in the front. The electrical part is also in order. The instruments are not connected. I need to change the cables. But they work. As I said, the body (fiber glass) is in great condition. There are no cracks. As the car was painted nearly 40 years ago, there some scratches, bubbles and places where the paint has peeled off. All very natural for a car that age. The tyres are almost new. There is no rust in the chassis. Front and rear side window vents have been replaced by fixed windows after these photos The car still looks nice and can be driven with no problem at all. As I said, if someone is looking for an affordable alternative for an A110, this car is ideal.
The reason I"m selling this cas is that I have another two Interlagos (a coupe and a covertible) and a 1970 Puma which are all being restored right now. As this is not an original car, I"m giving preference to the other cars.
