About this vehicle This 1966 Ford Mustang is a restomod with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes Great Running 66 Mustang Vehicle Details 1966 Ford Mustang coupe. Vehicle was restored a few years ago and recently had rear end and engine work. Exterior Custom two tone black and blue paint with flames. Car was painted in 2013 and the paint shows some flaws and imperfections. It has a few minor paint chips and scratches. The biggest issue is the paint bubbled near the hood scoop and on the passenger drip rail. The chrome around the glass and doors was painted black and there are a couple places where it chipped. Rear glass area and passenger door. It has billet tail light bezels and LED sequential lights. The wheels are 17” American Racing Torq Thrust with BF Goodrich 235/45/17 all around. Interior The Mustang has racing bucket seats A swing of the door reveals the same theme of the exterior on the doors with flames and speakers were mounted on the doors. Now standard for 1966 is the instrument cluster in its black and chrome case sporting a round center speedometer and 2 outboard round gauges on either side. The dash was cut at one point in order to mount a single din stereo to go along with the two 6x9 speakers on the package tray. The dash pad has custom stitching with black vinyl. Headliner is made out of black suede. This gives the interior great contrast. A B&M floor shifter has replaced the original lever. The previous owner cut the carpet a bit too much prior to installing the B&M shifter which exposed the floor tunnel, about 3”. Drivetrain The stock 289 heads were rebuilt with new springs and push rods. Competion cam and lifters were also installed at the same time along with the 4 barrel aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold. It has a 4 barrel 600cfm Edelbrock carb. The transmission is a AOD out of Fox Body Mustang with less than 1,000 miles since rebuild. New water pump, new thermostat, new battery, new battery cables, new starter solenoid, new distributor, new MSD coil pack, new spark plugs, new wires, new oil filter, new oil sending unit, new fuel pump and fuel pump to carb line, fresh oil, new hoses throughout the engine and NEW gaskets for the oil pan, water pump, timing cover, thermostat housing, fuel pump, intake manifold, carb and exhaust manifold to name a few. NO OIL LEAKS! The car is equipped with a Unisteer Power Rack and Pinion. Undercarriage The floor pans are original - expected for a west coast classic car. Suspension components have new bushings and many parts have been replaced. Newer shocks up front, new brake drums and shoes in the rear, new brake hoses, new sway bar bushing, new strut rod bushing etc. All new exhaust system. Frame rails are straight and it doesn’t appear that this pony was ever involved in any accidents. If you have any questions please contact me at 714-640-9584.
