For sale is my super rare, 1966 Dart GT V8 2 door Hardtop.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT WORK
This is a 273 car, swapped with a rebuilt 318 by A&I Engines in Redding CA New Edelbrock 600cfm 4 barrel carburetor w/electric choke New High Flow Air Filter New Distributor New Spark Plugs, wires are good New Valve cover gasket New Fuel pump & Fuel filters New Battery & Battery Cables New Alternator New Cap & Rotor New Starter Cable New Speedometer Cable New Master Cylinder New Wheel Cylinders New Thermostat & gasket New Oil, Oil Filter Coolant flushed & replaced Brakes in good shape Engine and compartment dressed nicely Engine and transmission treatment added
INTERIOR WORK
Custom paint; trim, doors & dash Custom door panels, visors and sail panels Ceiling has been sanded of surface rust, cleaned and preserved with a flat black paint job Floor boards rock solid, no cancer Original bucket seats with nice custom seat covers (Old foam dried out but seats still firm) New carpet All fuses replaced Dash lights up/instruments all work but fuel gauge Trunk solid, no cancer, sanded & painted
MISC WORK
All chrome and aluminum trim present & quite chromy Fuel tank dropped & cleaned, fuel lines blown out Fuel Sending Unit & gasket replaced Filler Neck Grommet seal replaced Antenna missing Car comes with AC but not functional (missing AC vents), heater core needs replaced Tires in ok shape, functional Hub caps in excellent shape Originally a 273 car, with a ABF Carter 4 barrel, now upgraded with a rebuilt 318 and a Edelbrock 600cfm 4 barrel carb. This Dart is a nice summer cruiser and it also really gets up and goes with 245hp and 260lb torque! This car runs great, sounds lovely with a nice rumble and drives super smooth. She"s a straight car and gets lots of looks! There is zero cancer on the car but there was light surface rust in the interior when purchased, which was sanded, cleaned and sprayed with a rust inhibitor, before paint. The exterior paint is original and pretty solid but there is a little flaking, mostly on the deck lid. I thought it looks cool with the little bit of surface rust here and there; it"s patina and patina is cool today. There is a minor leak around the bolts on the transmission pan, but that"s just a simple gasket change. I probably will leave that as is because I haven"t the time to work on it. Other than that, there is no leaks anywhere. I can"t say if the mileage is accurate given that the speedo cable was broke when I purchased the car. It has since been replaced and reconnected. It works but from the sound coming from the dash, it seems the connector in the dash cluster needs to be replaced. I removed the dash cluster to clean up the electrical connections so as to get the gauges working. I was able to get the dash lights working, alt works, temp works but didn"t get the oil pressure light to work. Perhaps that"s just a bulb issue. Hagerty appraises this car in it"s current condition at over $10,000, so this rare bird is a excellent investment. RARITY In 1966 only 10,000 Dart GT V8 cars were built. Looking online, I have only found 2 or 3 of these 66 GT V8 Darts out there. It seems that very few have survived the now 50 year journey, which makes this car quite special.
