Vehicle description
1966 Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre R . . a rare and interesting classic car. .powered by the original 6-cyl Rolls Royce engine- -original 77k miles- -green with beige leather upholstery- -glass is all good—has original European plates- -good straight chrome- -needs restoration- - last time running was 3 years ago . . the 1966 Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre R-4 is The only non-Rolls Royce car ever to be powered by one of the Rolls Royce firm’s engines, original RHD examples like this one are be especially scarce. Have original bill of lading & US customs papers from when it was shipped to Hollywood, California from England Storage since ’89- -The 2,9 liter BMC C-series six-cylinder Rolls Royce powered 4-litre R - -was running 3 years ago This car is straight, clean, California car and complete, nice straight outside brightwork- -needs restoration of interior- -the leather upholstery is shot- -needs re-upholstered & the Walnut veneers need re-finishing - -the picnic table backs were standard on 4-liter R models,- -tires are recent some engine info: The Rolls - BMC, the FB60 was a 3.9 liter, short stroke, all aluminum design of 450 pounds and 175 HP and 177 lb. ft. of torque. These were very impressive numbers for a saloon of this size during the day, eclipsing its standard BMC powered predecessor’s output by at least 55 HP. - -Quiet, smooth and powerful in Rolls tradition, pix include pix of engine & i ncluded pix of RR-Rolls Royce stamping on engine & pix of data plate . . . - -the underside- -looks clean. .like what you"d expect from a california car. .the trunk is full of stuff/parts. .overall it also looks very solid, since its been in hollywood california since shipped from england, last registered in"89 & storaged since. . the chrome is not dented, pitted or rusted- -should clean up nice- not sure if its original paint-it could be- -i dont see any evidence of a repaint- -although its possible- -there is some laquer checking- there are some books,& pamhlets in the trunk, but all are weathered dry overall. .its just an excellent resto project of a very rare car- - have clean california title in hand & can ship anywhere Perfect for the British car lover. Or restoration hobbyist…sold as is, where is. .this is a no-reserve auction. .call 323-251-1100 for any info
