Vehicle description
1965 Pontiac GTO. Electronic PHS Paperwork indicates 1965 Tempest GTO Current Color: Red. Current Motor: 400 Motor Transmission - Two-speed power glide. (Checked with uncle - he says Two-speed power glide. I"m not certain of the accuracy.) Original Frame. Never broke. I"ve been informed that the left side had a touch of rust, so there is bondo in the rear panel under the paint. Just FYI. You can tell where because the paint has cracked slightly with age. Seats are original, but they have been re-upholstered. Heater works. Wipers work. Car is drivable and has a new battery - it is taken to gas station weekly and started every few days. (I don"t know if it would be up to long distance trips immediately, though, since we don"t take it anywhere, and haven"t for years.)
This vehicle was owned by my uncle and taken to car shows. It has been years since he has passed and I"m placing this ad with permission of my aunt. She had one of those "In memory of" stickers placed on the back window that is popular in this area for whatever reason, so you"ll have to have it scraped off. Issues: Needs new starter. (Car does start - the starter is just moody.) Needs new tires. Power windows do not work. Radio does not work. Odometer not currently working. The mileage given to me was 21150, however, since the odometer doesn"t work, I do not think that is accurate. (My aunt said "speedometer", but I believe she meant odometer.)

It was and is a beautiful vehicle, I"ve ridden in it several times, and my uncle took good care of it when he was alive - but it has mostly been sitting in the garage gathering dust lately, which shouldn"t happen to beautiful things. It would be nice if it was sold to someone that will love the car as much as my uncle did.

The door tag has been painted over in shiny red paint, like the rest of the car, so it did not photo well. I had to turn the photo to B&W and darken it, and further - still couldn"t read it well, so I did a playdoh impression of it to get it clear, which is what that last pic is.
The information on the firewall tag looks to be:
ST 03C 882 TR 65 23737 BAL 9126 Body 213 N6 Paint
I tried really hard to get that bottom line where it says "Body by XXX", but no matter the method - that spot over the last word is bubbled up paint.
The information on the door tag looks to be: 237375B118728
After looking online at various websites, which you can also do yourself, I figure the information to be as follows:
FIREWALL TAG 03 = March C = Third Week of March 65 = 1965 213 = (?) I don"t know about the ST or 882. BAL = Baltimore 9126 = (? ?) N6= Either Burgundy with Beige Top or GTO option? ? (depending on what webpage you look at)
(My aunt says the car was "maroon" - her word - and that my uncle had it painted red.)

Near as I can tell, *websites* say the first "2" = Pontiac Division. The first "37" should mean Tempest Lemans. The second "37" should mean 2 door hard top 5 should mean 1965 B is Baltimore
