Vehicle description
Hi All, I have relisted my car with a reduced price. Sorry to those of you who asked questions whilst I was out of town. Obviously my answers came a little late to be of any use. This car is in great condition for its age. It is virtually rust free. There is a small amount at the rear of each wheel arch on the rear quarters (pics). There was some pitting in the trunk and the trunk gutter but this has been treated. All the chrome is in good to very good condition with the exception of the rear bumper which will need a small amount of straightening and re-chroming. All panels are relatively straight. Another right rear quarter has been stitched on at some stage. All work to date has focused on reliability. The car has had new exhaust, engine hoses and belts, brakes and flexi hoses, distributor, leads and plugs, alternator ect. I had intentions of restoring this car whilst I used it. I purchased this car because it was an easy restore. The engine is numbers matching 425ci BB that was rated at 360hp new, runs nice and smooth and doesn"t blow any smoke. It does have a minor leak from the sump but I have a replacement gasket set for this. Auto is a TH400 that shifts nice. Next on my to do list was going to be the steering box (it"s a bit sloppy) and the carburetor. The carburetor is the original Rochester 4GC and could do with a rebuild or replacement with something modern. The seats need recovering and a headliner installed (bows are there). These cars seem to be starting to increase in price now. They are a great entry level classic car. If you would like some addition pics, please don"t hesitate to ask. Need to sell as we are heading back to NZ or Aus. I was going to take it back with us fully restored but our plans have changed and hence, it is up for sale. I can drive the car to a transport company for the successful bidder if you need to ship the car to your location. Thanks and good luck.
