Vehicle description
This is not your Granpa"s ride. This is one of the best styled pieces of American automotive history to ever leave Detroit. That right it"s 100% American iron made right here in the USA by real Americans. You haven"t seen body lines like this since Kate Moss or Marilyn Monroe. If you can"t change your own oil, set timing, adjust a carburetor, set points, and afford premium fuel then you need to pass on this beast. If you don"t like the smell of burnt fossil fuel you need to pass. If you think this needs a Vortec you need to pass. If you can"t stand attention then you need to pass. You may have V-TEC but you don"t have pushrods. You may have a CVT transmission but you don"t have a switch pitch torque converter. This doesn"t need torque vectoring because it"s got limited slip. You may have 2.0 liters and enough torque to swing a fly swatter, but at 6.6 liters and 445 ft lbs this has enough torque to rotate the earth beneath it. Is it quick? Yes for 4,000 pounds of Detroit steel it is, but don"t be mistaken, it"s not a drag car, it"s not a Nascar, it"s an original matching numbers 1965 Buick Riviera. It"s a fast luxury car, and pure beauty. It"s luxury if you consider a power driver"s seat, power windows, power steering, power brakes, an AM radio, a clock that"s right twice a day, and a speed minder luxury. So if you like attention everywhere you go, don"t want to be in the middle of a row of Mustangs at the car show, and have money to spend, this car is for you. This Riviera has been in the family for about 20 years, 11 of which I"ve owned it. I never thought I would do this, but life changes and I just don"t have enough time to enjoy it like I used to. It received "Best Luxury Car" at the 2006 United Way Car and Bike show in Atlanta and a "Third Place" in the 2007 Peach Blossom Car Show in Atlanta hosted by the Dixie Chapter Buick Club of America. It"s a 401 with the switch pitch transmission, and to my knowledge is a matching numbers car. It has 88k miles on it. It"s an older restoration that is starting to show its age. It"s a very nice 10 footer and a very solid car. It is a great driver or good candidate for a concourse restoration. It runs, drives, shifts, and stops. The headlights work properly and are some of the smoothest and fastest opening and closing I"ve seen. It"s a non AC car with minimal options, but has the very desirable limited slip differential. It"s has the factory optional wood wheel with intact and functional horn bar. It"s has a full size matching wheel and tire spare. The tires are older and should be replaced. The dash clock does not work. I have the missing trim piece for the vinyl top but it appears to be broken.
I have an open car hauler and could deliver it within a reasonable distance from Atlanta, GA or further under a separate contract after paid in full. I will be happy to take more photos if there is something a serious party wants to see. It does have some surface rust on the underside but nothing more than that to my knowledge.
