Vehicle description
PHS Certified 1964 GTO Convertible - original tri-power, 4spd manual from the factory. We purchased this GTO from the owner who painstakingly, frame-on restored this GTO from 2011 to 2013. We are unable to validate that the block is numbers match, but the restorer confirms it is period correct (meaning a 64-65 block). The car is totally rust-free, and only one right quarter panel was replaced in the restoration - all floor pans, trunk, frame rails are all original metal. During the restoration, all hardware, wiring, chrome parts, were refurbished or replaced with original, NOS, or Year One parts. The interior was redone in beautiful tan leather, including the dash pad, center console. The seats were replaced with Lexus seats, which were recovered in soft leather and the headrests were deleted. The seats are fully powered (up/down/fore/aft) and work smoothly. Carpets were replaced with thick carpets and are in excellent condition. The dashboard has a radio delete plate with a remote stereo in the trunk - complete with a power antennae that was relocated to the rear. Vintage air is installed and works quite well. The canvas top was replaced, frame hardware restored, as well as all mechanicals for the power top. The wood wheel is in excellent shape and all gauges, interior/exterior lights, and power options. Mechanically, the car runs flawlessly, not burning oil, no smoking on start up, it tracks straight, idles smooth, shifts strong, and is a joy to drive. Power steering was added upon restoration. We are selling it to make room for another toy. It is in our climate controlled garage, covered, waxed and clay barred, on a trickle charger (period correct Delco Battery), and driven once a week to keep it happy. We hope to find it a good home - it is a fantastic GTO!
