Vehicle description
Up for auction is a very nice 1964 Pontiac Le Mans Sport Convertible.
We have owned this vehicle for well over 20 years and have many maintenance receipts and records from that time. The body is very straight and the paint is in very good condition as the car has been garaged. Floors are original and solid with no rust. Top is in very nice shape and works as it should.
The engine is a 400 with 6X heads, Edelbrock dual plane manifold and a quadrajet done over by Shawn Murphy. Trans is a 4 speed muncie M-21 and rear end is a 308 ratio so she cruises nice on the highway.
Interior is original and is ok but should be redone as the front seats have a split in them. Some very nice addons are a wood sport steering wheel, Rally gauges and dash and rally 1 wheels all originally swapped over from a 65 GTO. If your into Pontiacs you know how hard these are to find.
Suspension has all been gone over with new springs and a close ratio steering box and front sway bar from a Trans- Am that makes a nice difference in the way she handles. Exhaust is dual with Flowmasters that give it a great sound that doesn"t resonate inside the car as your cruising down the road. There are a few maintenance items I have not had a chance to get to that you will want to repair. The power steering line leaks, the starter needs to be shimmed and the heater temp cable needs replacement. Glass is all good and windows operate as they should with new seals installed. Doors do not sag and yes I do have the original radio and speaker for the car and no the dash has not been cut or modified to fit the newer radio.
Overall this is a very nice ride that receives complements and positive comments when ever we have it out on the road.
