Vehicle description
Selling my father-in-law’s 1964 GMC C1000 (Has a chevy bed). The Vin is 1002HF2956A. It starts up, runs and drives very well for a 56-year-old truck. Dad purchased it in California in 2008 when he was living there and drove it back to Michigan in 2011. As a California vehicle most of its life, it only has minor surface rust and no major rot. Truck has the original 305 V6 engine with a 2 barrel carburetor (Stromberg model WW) and 4 speed manual transmission. The odometer works and is showing 96900 miles, but we are unsure if it has rolled or not. Truck does not have power steering or power brakes.
Here is a summary of things that dad has fixed/replaced:
New belts (2010)
Voltage regulator (2010)
Rebuilt Carburetor (2010)
Fuel pump (2013)
Rebuilt differential (2014)
Rebuilt water pump (2018)
New starter (2018)
New plugs, distributor cap, rotor, points, and condenser (2018)
New air filter (2018)
New fuel filter (2018)
New battery (2018)
Replaced the windshield (2019)
Some of the issues or non-working items:
Brakes are a little squishy and need to be pumped (Probably air in the lines)
Minor oil leak
Missing some covers over the engine
Wooden bed is rotted out and will need to be replaced
Most of the gauges do not work
Never moved the parking brake so not sure if it functions
Heat works but missing some of the ductwork to the vents/defroster
Rips and tears in seat Drives door handle stick a little.
Let me know if you have any questions. If I don’t know an answer, I will reach out to dad and get you an answer. Let me know if you"d like to setup a time to see it in person before bidding. Also open to test drives, but no joy rides and must know how to drive a manual transmission.
