About this vehicle This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle needs work. Seller"s Notes These cars seldom come up for sale in any condition! Exterior Interior 1964 ford galaxie 500 xl 7.0. 427T Dual Quad 4speed R Code Car Condition is "Used". Guardsmen Blue with blue interior. Complete interior, but needs to be restored. I cut out the original carpet so you can see the condition of the floors. Has rust though out car and is still a great car to do a restoration on. Rust in areas of the roof, parts of quarters, trunk,tail light panel, rear window Chanel, upper trunk to roof area, floors, also the roof was pushed down and so I popped out the roof. (please ask for pictures) I have owned a couple of 427 cars and numerous other 64 Galaxie’s and are gorgeous and great driving cars. Especially guardsmen blue with blue interior. I own a 427 500 Galaxie and it’s beautiful with those colors. Roughly 18+ R codes XL in 64 are known to exist on the 427 registry and unknown that came with Transistorize ignition system! (Transistorize ignition is hotter spark sort of like modern electronic ignition system cold starts) This is a original transistorized ignition system car and looks to be intact and undisturbed. (No Distributor or coil, prior owner discarded it) has original block, but has a hole in block from rod giving way possible repairable. Crank is still in block unknown condition. I Removed exhaust system from car! The 427 Z bar for the 4 speed is still there and is the 4speed console plate. Rust in trunk, roof, tail light panel, floors (not as bad) and quarters. Rockers, parts of floor, wheel well looks to be good shape. But it’s a REAL R CODE with the big bearing rear end, brake lines run under radiator etc. Have parts car if interested and a tear drop hood painted Gaurdsmen blue that’s on my other R Code for additional price.
