Vehicle description
1964 Galaxie 500. Restoration was completed by me in the mid 90"s and have put about 6000 miles on the car. Dash unit was replaced as a part of the restoration so the mileage shown is not accurate. Completely rebuilt engine and driveline. All braking components were new at restoration and silicone brake fluid was installed. Car was originally sold out of the Charlotte NC district, and lived in the south til I purchased it in the early 90"s. No rust body was taken to the metal, underside and all interior areas were sandblasted and recoated in Centari for the blue, including all internal cavities, and rust-oleum for the black (for its toughness). Every nut and bolt was removed except for the body bolts as I chose not to detach the body from the frame. Every single mechanical component that could be renewed was either restored or replaced. Underside was primed and refinished in Black. Topside was refinished with DuPont Croma and Clearcoat in its original color. Interior was redone using NOS upholstery materials in the original pattern. Car was originally a 3 speed but as a part of the restoration I changed it, using all factory parts, to a T-10 4 speed. Also added a 3.25 traction loc differential. I also added power steering using all original and restored original components. Air conditioning is aftermarket under dash and works well. There is not a thing that I know of wrong with this car. It runs and drives like a brand new 64 Galaxie. Thanks for looking.
