Vehicle description
Greetings bidders-
Up for grabs is this super nice 1964 Malibu Convertible with slightly over 50,000 original miles on her. I purchased this car from the original owners family last fall. The car was purchased here in Redding California and has spent her entire life here. It was stored in the owners garage since 2008 after the owner passed away.
I"m not really sure where to start, so I"ll start at the front bumper and work back. The front bumper is original and presents nicely with very minimal age checking and still shines brilliantly. New headlights and bezels. New lower rocker trim, new hood arrow, new front hood edge trim, new radiator, new alternator, new belts, hoses and battery. New side mirrors and rear view mirror. Fresh tune up, new master cylinder, new water pump, new heater core, fan and controls. New fuel pump and carbuerator. New fuel tank and sending unit. All engine accessories removed in order to detail and paint. NOS engine decals installed in their correct positions.
All door, window felts, wing and trunk rubber are new and have been professionally installed.
All glass is original and in very nice condition with no cracks, pitting or problems.
The doors, trunk, hood and all body panels line up, and open and close just as they did when she was born 57 years ago.
The trunk mat is original and so is the jack and spare tire.
The interior is 100 original with the exception of the dash bezel was faded so I replaced it. I also replaced the clock with a NOS clock and it works! The radio turns on and off and crackles but its hard to find a strong station. The carpet is original but faded a bit. The seats are original and in really nice condition with the exception of a small seam tear on the top of the drivers seatback. I tried to highlight it in one of the pictures.
All lights, signals, horn, wipers, and heater work properly. I had the car repainted in her original color in October. It"s not show quality but it looks great and looks new at 5 feet. I also had the top and back window professionally replaced. The top is manual but goes up and down easily. I also have the original parade boot that is still in presentable shape.
The engine is the ever famous and reliable 283 with a 2 bbl carb. She has plenty of power and runs "As New" Basically, she purrs like a kitten! The transmission is a 3 speed manual on the column. The old three on the tree! The clutch is fine with no chatter or slippage. Super fun to drive. She"s a real head turner.
The few people that I trust to drive her have all said the same thing. "She drives like a brand new car" I agree! There are no squeaks, unusual noises, wobbles or vibrations and goes down the road perfectly straight and true.
I probably forgot a few things so I will add them as I remember them. Please feel free to text me directly at 530-five one five 55 eight 5 if you have any questions. Because this is a 57 year old car, there are no warranties implied or expressed. Feel free to come look or send someone on your behalf to check her out.
In summary, this may very well be the car you have been waiting for to pop up, as she is unmolested and ready to show, drive and enjoy. She is truly a turn key car, with all of the hard stuff already done for you.
Good luck bidding. Bidders with less than 10 positive feedback, please contact me before bidding. Thank you! Jeff
