Vehicle description
This is all original 1964 Impala SS Convertible. This literally was a garage find. it was in a buddies garage for past 25 years. It was under a cover and the interior back seat does NOT need to be refinished. the chrome on the seat frame can shine. The front of dash is clean, there is two small cracks by the passenger speaker vent.
I towed it to my property and I have a video of my son and i putting gas in it and it started. We drove it about 100 feet and realized it didnt have brakes. . . The powerglide went in gear immediately.
327 Motor, matching heads and intake, trans.
I pulled the motor and it is at Machine shop in Plano, TX. I held off doing anything to the motor. I had planned on doing a restomod then decided to keep it all original.
I spent $450 at machine shop. Spent $1200 in labor and towing, I have $2800 in parts. The shop, pulled motor and they ordered me a Performance kit with new cam, heads, intake, new front uppers and lowers, new 4 wheel disk brake kit. Before i do any of that, I decided to stop.
There body and underneath is solid. Pans are fine. There is surface rust by fender wells but NOT major or terrible.
The steering column has tilt but little wobbly. Original dash , original miles 97,000, original stereo push button that worked.
Realistic offers only. I am out of pocket already $4500 and dont know if i am game to drop the necessary $ to do it right. This is rare find and deserves to be done correctly.
The top was new, However, it has a few hail tears from TExas Storm. I gave a $10,000 deposit to local shop to redo the motor and front end to get us running. Took my money and did jack squat for 9 months. When i found it outside i just picked it up last week. She is still on my trailer. I did get some of my money back.
