“1963 FJ40 Land Cruiser, I removed the original paint with pressure washer, no body work was done, then I painted with primer to protection only. Pictures show rust in the typical place on the below the rear doors. Also rust around the leading edge of the inside rear fenders. see pictures. Lights don't work, bulbs and maybe wiring. Tires old and may need replacing for safety. Runs and drives. PTO winch works.” |

Vehicle description
This 1963 unrestored mostly original FJ40L Land Cruiser is truly a rare find. Everything is all there. Still has the very early top often referred as a corrugated top with the folding rear hatch. Someone needs to preserve or restore it. The engine runs good with no smoke. Transmission has a unique home made floor shifter that shifts in one easy straight line. Very nice. The 4x4 transfer case works good along with the 8,000 Lb. PTO driven Ramsey winch on the front which also works. I installed new brake shoes and wheel cylinders on all 4 corners. New Hydraulic brake and clutch cylinders. New Clutch slave cylinder. All respond well. New Battery. Has a custom home made defrost vent to defog the windshield better. I removed the original paint with a pressure washer. I didn"t do any body work, but I did paint primer on to preserve the body. I didn"t sand the primer which gives it that flat green look. I like it. There is one picture of the body before primer. Nice condition except for the rust below the rear doors which is typical. Also rust on the leading edges of the inner rear fenders. Pictures of this included. I haven"t done much to the interior except cover the two front seats. This is cool to keep as is or to restore. If you are an active bidder, I will send any picture you want me to take. Please ask questions if you have them. I will help getting the FJ to the shipper and assist loading at zip 97801 only
