Vehicle description
I have for sale a 1963 Mercury Comet 4 door. The car has a great running rebuilt 302 V8 with a Holley 4 barrel carburator and electric choke. Holley fuel pump. Automatic Transmission, shifts and performs as should. The car is in really nice condition and a beauty to drive. All original glass, with no cracks, chips, or fogging. All original mirrors. All original chrome and stainless trim in good drivers condition. Body is in perfect shape, no dings or rust. Paint job is a few years old but in decent shape. There is a few small chips in the paint (all noted in video and photos). Still has a great look and shine. The exterior vinyl on the top is starting to crack and is a bit faded from weather. Easy to repaint and condition. Wheels are original, hub caps are hard plastic. Tires are in decent shape. The interior is also in good condition, mostly original. Only the cloth in the seats need to be replaced, vinyl leather is in great shape. Door panels have been redone along with new carpet. Headliner is new. The lights all work as should, including brake lights and turn signals. Wipers work as they should. Car has original radio, never hooked it up. There is hook ups for installed 6x9’s in rear dash. This is a really nice car that with a little more work could be a show stopper. Would be a great car you could drive and enjoy while doing the final touches the car needs to be a show winner. It’s been my daily driver since I bought it in 2016 a very reliable vehicle. The odometer has never worked. Last reading (86,788) The engine was replaced by the previous owner 4 years before I purchased. I’d rough estimate 50-60 thousand miles on the rebuild total. Most likely less. I recently replaced the starter, it also has a brand new battery. The steering column was rebuilt last year. The break box was replaced. The following are things I know the car needs: The bushings will eventually need replacing. Rides fine, just feel the bigger bumps sometimes. Cloth in the back and front seats. And optional: I have the power steering unit in a box in the trunk. I never hooked it up because it was never an issue. But the option is there. Buyer responsible for transportation arrangements.
