Morgan Plus 4 roadster, 1962 Beautifully restored original car with 59,000 original miles since new All of the best. . Excellent rust and damage free chassis, excellent rot free wood framing and floors, excellent sheet metal (which passed "the magnet test" searching for plastic filler. .none found along the edges of the body, lower part of doors, under the doors, etc.), no cracks at the top of the fenders or around the headlight pods. As solid a Morgan as exists anywhere. And notice the photos of the incredibly perfect door fit on both sides, unlike most Morgans that have big gaps due to warped wood door frames. Engine: original Triumph TR4, 180-185 psi compression in every cylinder, 65-70 psi oil pressure when warm, no smoke. Excellent 4 speed Moss transmission, quiet even in first and reverse gears. Disc brakes, work properly, front end is nice and tight, original cloth covered wiring loom in very good condition, all original gauges. .and all work. Original creme colored switches. Most of the chrome is new, all new splined wheel hubs, all wheel bearings replaced with new seals, 15" wire wheels with 165-15 radials, new top and side curtains (and new tan tonneau being made up and to be included with the car), ALL redone interior with leather seats and nicely trimmed to high standards. On the road, cruises at any practical speed (I have seen 100 mph), great steering and handling, a real "classic" performance car. . after all, an aluminum bodied Plus 4 won its class at the 24 hours of LeMans in 1962 beating the factory Porsche and Alfa teams). And rare. With only 159 Morgan Plus 4s being built in 1962. What is perhaps best about this beautiful, rare Morgan is that with the factory still in business, never much of an issue to get virtually ANY part from England or one of many US Morgan dealers. And with the Triumph engines, many parts are available from MG/Triumph sources such as Moss Motors. So, a rare, desirable classic that is easy to own. And if you are wondering, the factory never installed air cleaners on this model so not seeing them in the photos is entirely appropriate. Has seat belts, starts instantly, runs flawlessly, will keep up with OR ahead of most traffic, can be easily fitted with a heater for cold weather use, can even be fitted with a radio, luggage rack, driving lights or most any conceivable option. All of which I can supply and install for a buyer. This 1962 is sufficiently old to have the classic creme faced gauges (which became white on black by 1963) yet is sufficiently "new" (as Morgans go) to have disc brakes. All in all, a wonderful year for Morgans.
