Up for sale is a 1961 Volkswagen Chassis with a 1968 Sand Shark Fiberglass body Dune buggy! The Sand Shark body is VERY rare, most are Meyers Manx. I have ALL the original paperwork and booklet and pricing etc, even comes with a patch for your coat, again original! I bought this as a solid, running but good shape bug. Kept the original paint (flames) and had it re-clear coated and put blue tint back in the clear to bring back out the blue. Not perfect but looks real real nice! Anytime you re clear a fiberglass paint you get "fisheyes" in the paint, it has fish eyes but looks real good, see pics, but is not a showroom paint! Just trying to be honest. This was just the best option especially not wanting to get rid of the original design and flames/flake! I took as close up photos as i can so you can see fish eye? There is a spot by pass door the clear peeled but was touched up, cant really tell. Also on hood, original layer had started to fade and there was once gold vercical thin stripes like on the back and you can see where they were, but again im probably overdescribing, car looks great! See pics. The motor i have been told is a 1500, VW engine, very solid running motor, fairly fresh and runs like a dream! Miles on Ohio title reads 27,186 (exceeds mechanical limits) but clean clear title. If you are a VW PERSON and want motor #s on the left side/bank there is a VW logo then # 113129701M and on the right side stamped in engine cast is a gain a VW logo then# H5564624. I dont have any papers on internal engine work etc, only what i have done basically externally! TONS OF mechanicals have been done and I have most receipts. Comes with 2 sets of wheels, original wagon wheel style painted street rims (not on car) and the new (original not reproduction) 68 Camaro Rally wheels w factory centers and trim rings! (These are about $500 wheels! Also COMES WITH a TOW BAR that hooks to the front axles and to that back of your truck so it can be flat towed wherever you go! NEW Cooper tires mounted and balanced and ride nice! New Brakes all around, new brake lines, wheel cylinders, hub bearing, tie Rod end, axle boot, fresh fluids and filter, battery, belts, NEW Bumpers front and rear, new under pan, new exhaust and valve cover gaskets. I also had this converted over from a Generator to a 12 volt alternator! New starter and bushing also! Harley Davidson key switch and Harley air cleaner! Bug also has a vinyl top, decent shape and still works, has been patched. All lights and horn work and has a CD player w one speaker, but more can be added. I also have brand new in the box adjustable coil over rear shocks. The seats are out of a Pontiac Montana so are comfy, they were tan, so I died the headrests and shoulder area black and put the seat covers on over!. I AM NOT LOOKING TO GIVE THIS AWAY! it"s a fair price and I may buge a little but please dont waste my time w low ball offers! These are way to hard to find turn key ready and with this much being done to one to get ready to drive. Plus the SAND SHARK again is rare! The original papers are amazing to add value and I even have some links and pics of this bug off sand shark locator I can forward on. I"m a nice guy and would love to chat!, Moving on to my other project, just selling. Also, price paid is what will be on the title as I am a notary!
