Vehicle description
This Truck started as a 1959 Ford F-600 winch truck. . Alot has changed since. It originally had a 292 Y-Block V8 that we swapped for a Detroit Diesel 6V53T mated to an Allison MT 643 Automatic 4-speed transmission. The frame was Blasted, re-enforced, staggered and painted. Front suspension is set up with an inverted leaf spring and 4-Link. The rear is the original dual leaf configuration. Throughout the build we used new components where applicable for items like wheel cylinders, springs, brake lines, fittings, valves, master cylinder, Vac booster, Vac pump, Alternator, radiator, Gauges, etc. It still does not have a Tachometer or speedometer. We use a cell phone app w gps for that function and it works great. New tempered Auto Glass used on cab. Cab interior painted black and has air ride seats, Air horn and 4 gal onboard tank. New 21 circuit wiring harness and all LED lighting throughout except headlights. They are new but not LED. The driveline off the trans has a 2 piece telescoping balanced driveshaft W/ carrier bearing and a hand operated parking brake. The rear axle is a 2 speed Eaton with pull switch on the shifter. Top speed in high gears is about 55mph. If you like Detroit Diesel 2 strokes you will LOVE this truck! It"s so much fun to crank up and cruise around but its time to move on to other projects for us.
