Gorgeous little 1959 Autobianchi Bianchina Transformable Special, built by a partnership of Autobianchi, Fiat and Pirelli in 1959 Based on the Fiat 500, this little rear engined gem is powered by a reliable 2 cyl 500cc aircooled Fiat powerplant with a 4 speed transmission. Being the "Special" model, it has a whopping 19 hp, (a big step up from the mere 17hp base model driven by the unwashed peasants). . I bought this car a number of years ago from a flipper who found it in the Nevada desert where it had languished for many years. It had small dents and dings, but not a spot of rust. Bringing it to the body shop, we literally sat it on a tabletop and had a master body man begin the process of slowly massaging every inch of the body back into shape. I sourced a hood from Greece and many NOS parts from Italy, as well as tons of parts from "Mr Fiat". When the body was perfect, I sent it to a restoration shop in Seattle where they applied my special mix of paint that I call "Butterscotch Cream" over Wimbledon White. The quality of the paint and bodywork is literally a show stopper, and again: No Rust, EVER. After driving it on weekends and to shows for a couple years, I sat it on a shelf in my shop where it held court over lesser cars in my collection since 2017. Last week I realized that due to health issues, I needed to get rid of some toys. So here we (reluctantly) go. . She has more new parts than I can list here including the instrument cluster, windshield, canvas top, column mounted switches, starter, clutch, master cylinder, gas tank, taillights carpets etc, etc, etc. She runs great and would drive fine, but the brakes decided to give up during its years long slumber on the shelf in my shop. When I last drove it to a show around 2015, it skipped out of first gear at about 15 mph, (the speed at which you would normally shift to second). Still needs the interior finished, bumpers chromed and many little "final assembly" type trinkets installed. The mechanics function as they should, but have not been restored to the level that the body has. I believe it is 100% complete except for the original sun visors. Comes with tons of extra parts, a Shop Manual, extra paint etc. I have included a screen shot of a website showing the average auction sale price for reference. Clean Oregon title in my name. Currently licensed and insured for $30,000. NO RESERVE! Car is being sold with NO RESERVE in AS-IS (unfinished) condition, so you are encouraged to inspect it before auction ends.
