1958 JAGUAR XK150 FIXED HEAD COUPE JUST PULLED FROM A MAJOR SUPERCAR COLLECTION ONE REPAINT ORIGINAL METAL CAR BEAUTIFUL PATINA ORIGINAL INTERIOR CAR DRIVES AMAZING AND OMG THE SOUND OF THE EXHAUST 3.4L DOHC inline 6-cylinder engine 4-speed manual transmission British Racing Green with Tan leather interior Bumper guards Painted wire wheels Dunlop vacuum-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes Independent front suspension with wishbones, torsion bars and anti-roll bars Semi-elliptic rear leaf springs Live rear axle 102 inch wheelbase Jaguar introduced a magnificent new generation of sports cars with the 1948 XK120, which excelled in international sports-car competition, winning such diverse events as the 1950 Tourist Trophy and the Alpine Rally. Those early successes boosted sales that provided the company with much-needed cash flow that was vital to its ongoing postwar recovery. The design matured through the C-Type racers to the 140 of 1954, culminating in the XK150, the predecessor to the XKE. First offered in both Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) and Drop Head Coupe (DHC) styles, the new XK150 featured higher front-fender lines, a wider front grille and hood, one-piece wraparound windshield, increased interior shoulder room and a leather dashboard in place of the earlier walnut unit. The 3.4L DOHC inline-6 and 4-speed manual transmission remained, though 4-wheel Dunlop disc brakes were now introduced—their first appearance in a production car—to more efficiently handle the XK150’s speed. The XK150 in Fixed Head Coupe form proved itself a delightful grand-touring machine that pleased its passengers with its beauty, luxury and poise. This 1958 Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupe was purchased new on October 15, 1957, by its first owner in Mountain View, California. Equipped with the 3.4L DOHC inline-6 and 4-speed manual transmission, it was finished in traditional British Racing Green with a tan leather interior; it was later acquired by its second long-term owner, who maintained it in the superb unrestored condition in which it remains to this day under the care of its present owner 72,600 miles on the odometer and is a well-preserved specimen perfectly suited to both the concours and the open road.
