Vehicle description
This car is titled as a 1958, but is a very early body #730 100-6 BN4 Longbridge built car, possibly built in early 1957. Original engine may have been replaced with a later 6 port head and engine, factory painted in olive green. I had the engine running before I pulled it from the car. The transmission is the correct 4 speed with Overdrive, which looks to have been refurbed.
Car is now fitted with 60 spoke wire wheels from a 3000. I have a disc brake setup with hubs, backing plates and calipers (need refurb), but the car is currently setup with original drum brake hubs, front and rear.
I installed a new Stainless Steel exhaust that was fitted only for startup of engine. Engine and gearbox can be reinstalled for transport if required. Car is not driveable as brakes are not installed.
Wire harness appears to be complete and in good condition, having been recently replaced. Dash is original and all gauges are correct. Oil / Temp gauge is functional. All lights are present and would be usable, but not installed. The grill is present and usable, but not installed.
I have purchased most of the new parts need to get the car on the road, including reconditioned radiator, new radiator pipes, new 5 blade fan, new water pump, new fuel line, new gas tank, new SS Bell exhaust, new brake wheel cylinders front and rear, new old stock clutch Master, new old stock Brake Master, new heater control assembly, new dash knobs, new panels - main floors, front outriggers, rockers, rear B pillar dogleg panels, rear trunk floor, new front wheel deflector panels and many smaller bit and pieces still in bags.
The frame is very good condition and is straight. The right front shock mount has a poor repair where the captive nuts have broken free and will need a new shock mount plate (not included). The front outriggers need replacing and the new parts are included. As you can tell from the parts list, the main floors, front floors and trunk rearmost floor section need replacement. The fenders are in very good condition. The rear doglegs panels are included, but may not need replacement externally. There is typical corrosion in the front of the rear wheel arch at the dogleg panel.
I have a clean Oregon title in my name. Car and all new parts are included in this auction. Mileage 05691 as shown on Speedo is likely not correct !
Please ask questions or if interested, make an offer. Additional photos of the car can be seen on google photos.
