Vehicle description
I bought this 1957 MGA a few years ago with intentions of completing the restoration but it never made it to the top of my priority list so I need to pass it along to someone who will finish the job. This car has had a frame off restoration with nearly every piece rebuilt, replaced and repainted. It is about 90% restored and comes with most of the parts included to complete the car. I have receipts from the previous owner for about $14,000 that has been spent on the restoration and that does not include everything that has been done or the original cost of the car itself. Body paint has been started with a base coat of the original Orient Red color. The black colored part of the body is still in black primer. Also included is the piping that goes between the fenders and body that needs installed after final painting/assembly. The only two items I know of that are not as original are the chrome exhaust tip and convertible top color (has a new black soft top included instead of the original white). In the photos there are some temporary fasteners, connectors, cable clamps, etc. that can be seen that are not the final version, they’re just there for construction purposes until the originals are installed toward completion. There are new black interior upholstery panels included, as well as most other parts, fasteners, seals, etc. needed to complete the entire car. The only bigger item I know of that is not included is the frame for the convertible top. The motor is a 1500cc and has never been started since being rebuilt so that there would be no worry about clogged carburetors, fuel lines, old gas, etc. while being restored. There has never even been gas in the tank yet. The engine and drive train are like new. There is very little work needed to complete this project compared to the extensive detailed work that has already been put into it. There is just enough left to do to be able to say you finished it yourself. The car has a Kentucky Salvage Title that can be converted to a Rebuilt Title. There are boxes of parts, manuals, catalogues and other stuff that go with the car. Send any questions and I"ll do my best to answer them. I also have a few photos of the disassembled car during restoration that would not fit on here that I can send also.
