Vehicle description
The car is located in Switzerland and I am listing it for a friend to get exposure here in the US. I will pass on any inquiry to the owner as I receive it and you can communicate directly with him. 1957 Eldorado Brougham #230, most probably imported in 1958 by a private person, low compression pistons and speedometer in km. Frame-off restoration finished in 1991, still on air. The engine was overhauled, with just with new rings as there was no significant wear. The transmission was also overhauled during the restoration as well as brakes with new cylinders, brake and fuel lines. Daytona parts overhauled both Carter WCFB carbs some years ago. Tires are from Diamondback. Comes with most vanity items, some spare air suspension diaphragms and the tool to test them plus a unchromed front lower bumper bar . The dash was restored by Just Dashes in November 2001 ; a new electrical wiring for the engine and dash was installed 9 years ago. The trim is mostly original; only the upper door garnish moldings were covered with black leather as the vinyl was cracked. With the exception of the clock, every accessory like radio, A/C, automatic starting system are functioning as intended by Cadillac. The car is currently licensed and can be driven on the open road. The red reflectors seen in the photos are required in Switzerland but can easily be removed by the new buyer. This fine automobile got the mention “Best 1947-59” during the 2008 Grand European in Speyer (Germany), Best Limousine 1945-1960 during a concours d’élégance held in Basel in 2000. This concours is probably not relevant in the US, but the car was judged against other fine European cars from the same period. Asking $140,000.
