Vehicle description
1955 Pontiac Star Chief convertible is named Lucy. It is a tribute to the cross-country episodes of the Lucy show in the late 1950s. It is a frame off restoration done to high standards. The engine was rebuilt to the 1957 specifications, increasing the displacement from 270 cubic inches to 348. There is also a substantial horsepower increase from the stock 180 to nearly 300 HP 4 barrel, higher compression and displacement. The transmission has been upgraded to a 200R4 giving far better drivability and an overdrive for highway cruising. This is a Chris Stevenson build in Denver Colorado, the body has no fillers and the paint is exceptional. It is a high quality Black and Silver Pearl 2-tone repaint. The interior was done by Rick Seeley who is retired but is known for doing custom interiors for private airplanes. It is done as original in cloth. With a cloth convertible top. The car is as original . The car looks and runs as new with show chrome bumpers. The engine starts instantly and runs perfect - just broken in. The instruments are original and completely functional. The performance and handling are excellent and the car can be driven anywhere. It has a very firm ride and surprising performance. It does come with the original dealer"s brochure. This car is as comfortable highway cruising but also concours quality.
