1955 Ford F-350 Extremely rare 1 Ton with a 9’ steel bed. Very few of the F-350 trucks were produced with a steel 9’ bed. Most were ordered with a flat bed or no bed. In over 40 years as a professional restorer and custom car and truck builder, I have only seen two of them. One sold last year on the internet for $58,000 and it was mildly restored with a significant amount of rust repair and plastic filler. This truck is Rust Free and not body filler. I bought the truck for $10,000 about three years ago in non-running condition. It was disassembled to build a bid resto-rod truck. We spent $2800.00 to have it plastic media blasted to bare metal. The doors are solid, straight, and rust free. The running boards are perfect too. The running board brackets are in bare metal and are straight and rust free. The cab corners are perfect and rust free too. The tail gate is excellent, the bed sides are excellent. We spent over $1,000 in having parts powder-coated. This includes the inner fender panels, radiator core support, front radiator filler panel and a few other parts. We have the door latches, door handles etc., although we were intending to use bear claw latches, and install power one piece door glass. We spent almost $1200.00 in new parts including a new wiring harness, three speed windshield wiper motor, new windshield wiper control mechanism, new tail-light assemblies, new tailgate latches and chains, and door rubber etc. There are no reproduction hood emblems for the 1955 Ford F-350 and used junky ones if you can find them go for about $350.00 each. They are originally made of pot metal and do not re-chrome very well. This being the case with had molds made and a pair of new emblems cast in red bronze and chromed. They cost us $1,800.00. We also paid $1500.00 for a like new Crown Victoria independent from suspension that is perfect for this truck. We also bought a 2015 CTSV independent rear suspension. It cost us $2400.00. Yes, it will be a bunch of work to complete it, but when is the last time you saw one? There is no engine, transmission, windshield, glass, or seat. We intended to make it one-piece door glass and a newer power seat or bomber style. So, we have spent a bit over $20,000.00 on what we have for sale. Why am I selling it? That is easy. I have reached point in my life that I can not longer do what it takes physically to keep restoring vehicles and cars and have decided to stop and liquidate everything. Once this truck is gone and I sell a few more vintage engines, I will be listing all my tools and shop equipment. I have not made a list yet. I do not want to trade for anything other than cash, Bitcoin OR ETH crypto coins. The truck is in Bellingham Washington and has a clear Washington State Title. It also has a cool story. It spent almost all of its life since new with movie stars.
