Vehicle description
This listing is for the immediate availability of the handmade R Ü NGE prototype FF007 Gullwing Coupe built by Automotive Artist, Christopher Runge based out of Alexandria, MN. In 2011 Runge began work on his first Glockler Inspired build, FF001. Since then his designs have gained the appreciation of auto enthusiasts from around the globe. This car is 1 of 1 currently built. There is no other in the world.
R Ü NGE puts great attention to every detail and relentlessly pursues producing a one-off, reliable works of art with respect and honor to the craftsman of days gone by. The cars are scratch built, utilizing traditional coachbuilding methods (Hammer formed and English wheeled panels) without the aid of computer or digital assistance.
The purpose of this build FF007, the Gullwing Flyer to take styling cues reminiscent of the W194 Mercedes, Glockler Porsche racers and capture an era with his own interpretation of the ultimate 2 seat sports racer.
FF007 weighs 1300LBS and features a 1961 period OKRASA Tuned 4 Cylinder air-cooled engine putting out an estimated 120HP at 1799CC with 10:1 compression. The engine has Corvair Pistons/Cylinders, a stroked crank and custom ground cam. It has a 4 speed VW transmission, front and rear Disc Brakes in 5x205 bolt pattern, fully height adjustable front and rear suspension, Bilstein Sport shocks, custom drilled wheels, full steel roll cage integrated into the aluminum shell, Leather seats and Fender Vintage Guitar Amplifier Tweed I used for the headliner and doors. The interior features aircraft controls to operate the fresh air vents located just aft each front wheel in the fenders.
Engine access panel removed for ease of service access. There is a fully sound deadened firewall panel that isolates engine from cockpit not shown in this picture.
Handmade seating, tweed door treatment and mild steel frame. (Note: Upper steel cage integrated into coupe roof.)
Custom Lightened/Drilled By Hand 5x205 Steel wheels (Note: The wheel has no weights, it balanced perfectly!)
Porsche 356 Style tail lights.
Trunk space in rear.
Functional intake duct dumps fresh air to carburetors on both drivers and passenger side.
