Vehicle description
I am relisting my 1954 Ford tow truck due to a disappearing buyer. This is a great old truck. It was restored decades ago. It is still holding up pretty well. The paint had been taken down to metal and completely redone. There is a little bit of rust, in the drip rails, at the front corners of the cab. I have included pics. The paint is still presentable but is peeling here and there. The interior is in good shape. Nice gauges, good seat and upholstery. It has a heater. The tow truck body is all there. The cable was bad and removed. There is a replacement cable, on the bed of the truck, ready to be installed. This was a V8 truck from the factory. I think that the only V8 that year was the 239 overhead valve motor. It was the first year for the OHV instead of the flathead motors. I don"t know what happened to the motor. It was not there when I found the truck resting under a Eucalyptus tree. I have included a pic of where it had been sitting. I did have a 460 CID motor to put in it but decided to sell the engine and look for an original one instead. The 4 speed, manual, trans is on the bed of the truck. The 16" tires and tubes are old but hold air. They are mounted on split rims. I have way too many projects and have decided to thin out the herd. . I am not interested in trades. I have over 2 dozen vehicles already. I have posted several other vehicles on CL and both They are projects and cheap. 1937 Plymouth suicide 4 dr body 1941 Plymouth suicide 4 dr complete 1948 Plymouth Woody frame, suspension, partial front clip, cowl, firewall and windshield frame. I have a trailer and can deliver it for $1/miles, round trip, up to about 200 miles. I may trade on some of my higher dollar cars as long as there is a good chunk of cash, coming to me, in the deal.
