Vehicle description
Here is a great old truck being offered for sale.
This is a 1951 Mercury (Ford) F5 with the 255 flat head V8. The mileage is 48525.
From a web search, EACs heads are about the same as 8BA heads.
I have been told that this is the more desirable 255ci 125hp engine. This was a local farm truck here in Alberta, and was in the same family until a few years ago.
This truck has sat for many years without being ran. The engine appears intact except for the two missing upper radiator hoses and the coil ignition wire. Other than that, it seems o.k. The box was removed for use on another truck. The lift set-up on this truck is still intact. It has a PTO driven hydraulic pump, and two large cylinders that lift and lower the bed. This appears to be a shop built hoist - it is well engineered and professional, especially for the period, with the name Remm marked on the back. Interior looks fair. Headliner has been removed. Seat looks good. Floor mats are still in place. Magic Air heater.
As for the body - I think the pictures tell the story. Overall It is very straight, but has some rust perforation on the upper fenders. Floors are great. Grill is perfect, Overall, just a great project truck that won"t require a whole lot to get it going again. Check out the under hood horn.
This truck will haul on an 18ft trailer, and it can sit here a while, as long as paid for. I will load you for free. This truck rolls fine, front tire does lose air, but stays up plenty long enough to load/unload. Please check my other ads. Thank you and good luck.
