Vehicle description
This is a 1949 model 2232 Series 22 Super Eight Victoria The engine number is G425030. This is a rare 2279 1949 Packard Super Eight Convertible, 3 spd, 327 ci, L8, 2 bbl, 145 hp. This beautiful rust free Packard is fairly priced. It was purchased from a museum in Missouri about 5 years ago for $64,200 and I put over $25,000 into everything you don"t see at a museum. New radiator, heater coil, thermostat, antifreeze, weatherstrip, front bushings and rear shocks, rebuilt transmission twice, rebuilt generator, new tire, engine overhaul, all fluids, etc. Investment quality car. The motor runs smooth and strong. The overdrive 3 speed on the column transmission works perfectly, the overdrive feature is awesome and keeps up with high speed traffic with ease. This car has radial tires which makes a smooth comfortable ride. It gets more looks and thumbs up than the Ferrari I had. It stands out and is absolutely beautiful on the road and close up. Lots of chrome. Power hydraulic windows, and roof. Cool feature, press the gas pedal to the floor and it starts the car. Has vacuum power antenna which I haven"t had time to fix. Radio doesn"t work. I have two other radios and extra parts, bulbs, trickle charger, cover, lots of papers and books. Mileage is not accurate. Very cheap collector car insurance from Grundy Worldwide 800-338-4005. Parts are surprisingly easy to find. Easier than a 1991 Ferrari. No trades. As is, no warranty. Can help organize shipping anywhere or pick up. Note from eBayer that clarified this car"s numbers: In 1948-49-50, Packard only made two series, 22nd and 23rd. 1949 was half 22nd and half 23rd. 1949 22nd series cars were noted in the serial number with an additional 9 inserted in the middle of the serial number. Your car"s serial number, 2279-9-10199, shows that it was a 1948 style 22nd series, but was manufactured in 1949. Stylistically, it is a 48, but it is actually a 1949. The G prefix was used on all 22nd series engines, regardless of year of manufacture. That is a really nice one, and I hope you do well on your auction Take care,
