Vehicle description
The 1949 Dodge Wayfarer was originally offered as a low-priced model in Dodge’s all-new post war lineup. The car was powered by a 103-hp, 230-cid flathead six-cylinder and a three speed on the tree/column fluid drive transmission. The Dodge fluid drive in essence is a three speed manual transmission with a torque converter between the engine and transmission. You can drive it like a three speed manual or put it in high gear, let the clutch out, and then drive it like an automatic. The car up for sale is a solid, mostly original post war example. Original engine/ transmission and 6v electrical system. Car runs and drives great, a front disk brake conversion and electric fuel pump have been added. Car has a solid frame and body, with the exception of some rusting on the lower portion of both doors. Body is nice and straight with an older repaint. All moulding/trim is complete and intact, all glass is crack free and in good condition. Interior is in good condition with no ripping or tearing in the seats. This car would make a great cruiser as is or an excellent candidate for a restoration. You won’t find a better example at this price. The starting bid listed is the reserve! NO GIMMICKS OR TRICKS!
