| “This great car starts, runs and drives fine. However, since the car is now over 65 years old, we are selling it As-Is. All the gauges seem to work except possibly the fuel gauge. The heater fan does turn on. The paint is nice except for a chip on the hood, a paint crack above the right front fender and the driver’s door also has a small paint crack with a bubble. Some of the chrome shows pitting up close and the molding below the left rear window has some rust. However all pictures in this listing were just taken. 1949 DeSoto Custom Convertible Coupe (Second Series) 83,000 Original Mile West Coast Car – Previously Restored Only 3,385 Second Series Convertibles Produced for 1949 This is an extremely rare 1949 DeSoto Custom Convertible Coupe (second series). In 1949 DeSoto only produced a total of 3,385 second series convertible coupes and only a handful are known to still exist today. This previously restored West Coast beauty has just over 83,000 original miles and is currently part of the Goat Hill Automobile Collection in Southern California. The car was manufactured in Los Angeles and first sold on August 24, 1949 in San Francisco, California. (Copy of original Sales Invoice is included along with the original Owner’s Manual.) It is equipped with the Spitfire Straight Six engine and Tip-Toe Hydraulic Shift Fluid Drive (Semi-Automatic)Transmission. Additionally, it has a power convertible top, radio, clock, front/rear bumper guards and dual exterior mirrors. This wonderful 4-owner DeSoto Custom convertible has been part of the huge Goat Hill Automobile Collection in Southern California for close to 14 years and all pictures were just taken for the eBay listing.
