Vehicle description
Up for sale is a 1942 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck. The pickup has a very unique patina. The engine does run, but will need a water pump. The clutch may need to be adjusted as I was unable to drive the vehicle since the brakes are currently not working. The braking system will need work before the truck is road worthy. The tires on the truck hold air but should be replaced with new tubes and tires. The wiring will need to reworked. The truck does have rust and rusted thru areas, some may not like it others will love it as it adds to the character of the truck. The passenger rear fender took a pretty good hit, and a portion was cut off the back side of the fender. The passenger running board has been pushed down near the rear fender. The bed will need new wood and the front panel is missing a lot of metal due to rust. The tailgate has bumps and one of the hinges is no longer attached due to rust. The seat has been recovered at some point in a cloth material, not correct but works and it pretty decent and comfy. The grille had taken a beating over the years but looks good on the truck. Some glass is broken, and not clear.
Overall this is not a restored truck, or a truck that should be restored. It is a patina truck that has been used to work. You can use the original drive train or put it on an s10 chassis with a modern engine and enjoy.
I have a title for the truck which is currently on non-operational status in California. Vin tag issued by CHP and affixed to the driver door pillar.
I also have a lot more photos, please contact me if you are interested in viewing them.
