Vehicle description
Up for sale is a car belonging to a client of mine. It is a 1936 Mercedes 170 v. The car runs, drives, stops and steers well, especially considering it"s age and how stock it is. It still sits on proper bias ply tires and still uses it"s original 6 volt battery system. It is definitely a unique car that would be one on its own at any car show or cruise.
It has been repainted and reupholstered, done in a very tasteful gray and burgundy on the outside and nice gray vinyl on the inside. The only major modification that has been done was an intake and exhaust manifold that I made a few years back. My customer still has the original intake and exhaust manifolds along with the carburetor and Air filter. We wanted to make the car more drivable and reliable so when I built the intake and exhaust manifold, I utilized a early "70s Volkswagen bug carburetor to make parts much more easily obtainable. At the same time a couple of years ago, the brake shoes were all relined, all wheel cylinders and master cylinder rebuilt and braided stainless hoses for the front were made.
The clutch and brakes work smoothly, it is a non-synchronized 4-speed manual transmission. Flip a switch, hit the starter and the way you go in a very unique vehicle that is sure to catch attention and only go up in value. In a couple of the last pictures on this ad you will see a few chips on the passenger front fender, near the top and a few more chips at the bottom. Those were the worst blemishes on the paint. The bumpers and grill could be re nickel plated as the plating shows wear. Would you like the floor pans show no sign of repair aside from one small area which is pictured in this ad, near the corner of a rocker. Other than that, it"s a very rust free car. The engine although running extremely well with no knocking or ticking, does leave a faint trail of smoke while driving. My customer has driven it for quite some time, and it utilizes less than half a quart every thousand miles. For any more items specifics, please research the car. It"s a very cute car worthy of a collector, enthusiast or someone that just wants a very unusual and sweet little ride to enjoy as is.
