Vehicle description
Description:
1932 Ford Highboy Roadster; SEMA show car , NSRA Pros Pick Winner. Yellow w/ gray leather interior; excellent condition. Powered by Nissan Z motor & drivetrain; shows great, runs strong, Downs Body, Truly one of a kind.
This “Yellow Submarine” painted ’32 Highboy, spotted recently by an online blogger at the Nashville Nationals, was built for SEMA by Nissan employee, Jack Taylor. The car runs a Nissan 1996 300ZX, 3.0L DOHC EFI V6 with a ZX 5-speed manual. The roadster also features ZX headers with Jet-Hot coated pipes and stainless bullet mufflers. The Highboy is built on a ’32 frame with custom crossmembers from the American Stamping Company, and the custom frame is boxed and pinched to add to its custom geometry.
Front suspension is provided via a custom-tube, A-arm setup, and its assembly also features polished aluminum, ZX spindles. A Walker radiator helps keep the bright-yellow ride cool, and a Nissan 240SX steering rack helps keep it straight on the road.
The rearend is a 5-link, custom-tube IRS assembly with a ZX differential, hubs, calipers and axles, all of which are polished. While the Nissan 300ZX motor only puts out around 340 horsepower, we’ve got a feeling it’s not really the actual power output of the mill that makes this custom rod one of those projects that’s over-the-top.
this 32 roadster stole the spotlight even from a nearby carbon fiber GT-R. But the special thing about this highboy is that it"s basically a Z-car with a roadster body one off with thousands of hours invested and is a very reliable bad to the bone street rod. sold by hpcustoms llc
