Vehicle description
1930 Ford Model A Coupe, the car was purchased out of a local collection. The previous owner acquired it many years ago from California. The engine has been updated to a 1932 "B" 4cylinder engine outfitted with a Thomas high compression head, insert bearings and a full pressurized oiling system with oil filter, it has an electric fuel pump with a recently rebuilt Weber carburetor and a full length exhaust header. The electrical system has been converted to 12volt and runs an alternator. The Transmission has been upgraded to a synchronized 39 Ford transmission while retaining the original style closed driveline. The wheels are chrome steel wheels with Goodyear radial tires 235/75-15 rears and 205/75-15 fronts. Car does retain the original style mechanical brakes that operate well and stop the car with ease and very straight, currently the parking brake is not functional. (Not included in the auction but could be available for additional purchase is a complete set of front and rear 1940 Ford style front & rear hydraulic brakes.) The paint and body work appear nice with an attractive silver body with charcoal body accents and black fenders. The paint maintains a nice luster but there are some scuffs and small scratches. The interior is finished in a tan mohair type cloth in a stock style and is a nice addition to the total look and added comfort of the car. The rumble seat is upholstered in a brown Naugahyde for durability. The previous owner added electric turn signals, electric windshield wipers, plus Stewart Warner gauges including a tachometer, oil pressure and water temperature.
